The family piggy bank of the Sorrow family is filled with love, hard work and creativity

On the day I visited Dembrovo, autumn showed itself in all its glory. Both nature and people did their best. The sun flooded the surroundings, and the courtyards near the houses were a model of the inhabitants' economy: clean, cozy, islands of late autumn flowers attracted the eye ...
And roses were still blooming at the house of Sorrow on Molodezhnaya Street, where she entered through a special fancy gate. The buds, which were too late to spread their petals, were unexpectedly given a chance by warm, fine days to show themselves in all their glory.
This year, the owners of this not very posh, but such a nice manor, Elena and Dmitry, got the same kind of chance from life. They took part in the republican family project "Lord of the Village" and triumphantly passed all its stages - from the district to the republican.

"We had to fight for the victory"

- We were on our way home from the Hills when phone calls started pouring in: "Congratulations! We saw you on TV!" - Dmitry Stanislavovich Skorb recalls those moments of glory.
Let us remind you that during the republican festival-fair of village workers "Dozhinki-2012", which this year took place in Mogilev region, the family project "Lord of the Village" finished. Among the six married couples representing all regions of the republic, our Sorbs were recognized as the best. Skilful, creative, and creative dembravians proved to be at their best in a wide variety of competitions, and won over with their openness and generosity of spirit.
"We had to fight for the victory," Dmitry and Elena admit. - As it turned out, they gave us the first place in sawing firewood, and the second place in online voting. And the wood products were appreciated with dignity.
It seems to me that, although not in the protocols, the jury members "awarded" points to our fellow countrymen for their sincerity and openness, for the sunny smiles that Dmitry, Elena and their seven-year-old daughter Diana gave to others. This time, the most "sunny" member of the family, little Sasha, did not get into the competition. He is only one year and 7 months old. During my conversation with adults, the boy constantly demanded attention to himself, as if reminding me who was in charge of the house. By the way, when the family participated in the regional stage "Lord of the village", Sasha was next to the parents of the contestants, but only under the supervision of his grandmother.
The commemorative ribbons hanging in the upper room, a brand-new modern TV, a bicycle, a huge refrigerator-freezer, and a set of dishes now remind of that representative event in Gorki. The diploma received from the Minister of Agriculture is prominently displayed. There are also a lot of newspapers with publications, and a lot of impressions in my memory.
Yes, life goes on as usual. New characters enter the scene. But personally, I wonder who they are - our famous "lords of the village": how they live, what they dream about, what they think about the future of the village. That's what I asked them about.

You're my soulmate.…

In early November, Elena Iosifovna and Dmitry Stanislavovich celebrate eight years of marriage. And it was a year longer before we met eyes for the first time on Dembrovo Street. Lena was 19, Dima was 27. After graduating from the Leeds Pedagogical College, she worked as a teacher at a local school, where she had once studied herself, and the young man, an agronomist with a diploma from the Grodno Agricultural Institute and with some work experience, was in demand in the local economy. I am writing "in demand" because I know that at that time the management had already allocated a one-room apartment to the guy.
The house in which the young family lives now was also received from the household.
- Now they rent out turnkey estates, but then we had to do a lot ourselves, - says Dmitry. - Diana was sleeping in the stroller, and Lena and I put in the doors, putty, and painted. And the fence was put up, and the barn was expanded. Almost everything is handmade. And there are many more plans. The pediment needs to be changed, the bathhouse needs to be completed.
"My dad and I are building a bathhouse," Dianka informs me.
I find out that the owner of the house has golden hands. However, much of what is around is his work. Talent and skill, multiplied by desire, were embodied in a beautiful design above the gate, in a light wooden swing in the yard, in high-quality and stylish devices for the kitchen and home. Even in America, friends admire the shelf made by his deft hands.

A worthy grandson of his grandfathers

According to Dmitry, he is only developing his abilities, but in general they were "inherited" from his grandfathers. In particular, his paternal grandfather Kazimir Kazimirovich Skorb lived on a farm near the village of Kurilovtsy, sewed sheepskin coats, and even had his own students. The second grandfather, Ivan Mikhailovich Doroshkevich, was a carpenter, made vases, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Both one and the other cultivated gardens. They were famous for their hard work, which is why they lived well in those days.
Since childhood, the guy also learned his father's science (dad worked as a driver). Unfortunately, he retired early.
The grandson adopted many of their hobbies and qualities from the wise ancestors. "Sometimes I run away from my friends to go fishing - this is my big hobby," he jokes. And he adds seriously: "And if I sit down to make something, it's so addictive - I can't tear myself away. I come up with samples for products myself, or I record them from the Internet and magazines. I also prepare the materials myself - linden, birch, alder. It works better with birch: although it is difficult to cut, it looks good."
Dmitry Stanislavovich admitted that he dreams of preparing an exhibition of his wood products.
The honor of the whole family is the young garden at the house, which this year produced the first harvest.: Three boxes of apples have already been lowered into the basement. The children will have vitamins, and even a housewife like Elena Iosifovna will not spoil anything.

A jack of all trades

"She's a great cook," Dmitry praises his wife. - Shish kebab or fish soup is delicious! He bakes such cakes! There is no purchase nearby! And the pies! On the eve of the trip to Gorki, there was a slight embarrassment at the Dozhinki. We decided that we would order a loaf for such an occasion - the specialists baked it. They came to pick him up, but he wasn't there. People have forgotten about our request. So on the eve of departure, after midnight, Lena baked a loaf herself, which was not inferior to others - it turned out to be beautiful and loose. And it tastes great - we tried it later with the whole family.
And Elena Iosifovna is also fond of growing roses. When they bloom at home, you can't take your eyes off. Like a real housewife, the garden is in perfect order.
Elena Iosifovna has not only a diploma from the Leeds Pedagogical College. This young woman managed to graduate from the Grodno State University named after Ya.Kupala and the Institute of Informatization and Management of BSU - studied at its Grodno branch. Now she has two educations - pedagogical and legal. "This is an investment in the future," says Elena.
How did a young mother acquire knowledge? The husband explains as follows:
- Elena was helped by all her relatives: her mother-in-law, me, and uncle. We joke that now both Diana and Sasha have higher education: Lena was in the last months of pregnancy before defending her diplomas.
The atmosphere in the Grief family is so warm and sincere. People understand each other, love, appreciate and respect each other. The wife does not nag her husband for rushing into creativity, on the contrary, she encourages him in every possible way. "I appreciate him for his hard work and patience," she confessed when Dmitry left the room for a moment. Apparently, her husband is proud of his beautiful, intelligent and bossy Elena. Second-grader Diana defines her mother's kindness. By the way, the girl draws well. I visited the August field with my dad and immediately put my impressions on paper. She willingly showed the image to me.

Lifestyle — active

Elena and Dmitry are not stay-at-home people. If they have free time, the whole family goes to the circus or the water park, enjoys outdoor recreation, and actively participates in various sports and cultural events. This year, by the way, a young family was assigned to speak at a tourist rally. They did not agree immediately. And then we talked and started preparing. The result was satisfactory - the team of the SEC "Dembrava" was the third. Although they could have won, they say. They are still hoping for this.
The young family is also strong with its relatives. When I asked Dmitry Stanislavovich about his mother-in-law, I heard: "Are mothers-in-law bad?" and explained that they had not yet brought horned animals to the barn, since Elena's parents, Genaefa Yulyanovna and Osip Osipovich, live nearby on the Island and keep a large household. And Dmitry's mother Maria Ivanovna supports the family. Although for the future, Grief does not exclude the possibility of doing domestic "cattle breeding".
Friendly Mourners live next door to equally friendly people. "Verbali, Alikhver, and the Krishtapovichi are good and well-connected people," says Dmitry. - When Sasha was born, Viktor Ivanovich Kryshtapovich and I made a lot of noise. I was happy, but he was a special self-taught accordion player, he stretched his furs so that it could be heard far away."
"I couldn't live in the city," says the owner of the house. - These birdhouses in high-rise buildings are not for me. And in order for more young people to choose a village to live in, I think we need to resolve the issue of days off and give them the opportunity to receive a good salary. But you can't do without the inner need to live and work in rural areas either.
Elena Iosifovna is currently on parental leave: restless Sasha requires a lot of attention and affection. And Dmitry Stanislavovich disappears at work during the hot sowing and harvesting days. There is always a case for an agronomist on plant protection. This is a very demanding job, he says, because if you make a mistake in choosing and calculating chemicals, you will pay with a "burnt" field. And if you can take a little breath, it's only in winter.
She left the hospitable hosts of the "warm" house with a feeling of enlightenment in her soul, as there are values in their family piggy bank that money cannot buy. And I mentally wished all its inhabitants well and happiness. I wish there were more such families in our Belarusian villages and agro-towns!
